Steve Cordony Residency at MCM House

To celebrate the launch of my very first book, Moments at Home: Interior inspiration for every room, I have created a structure lined with the fantastical Iksel D-Dream wallpaper from Boyac replicating the cover of the book, housed within the flagship MCM House store on Oxford Street in Paddington, signalling a 3 day residency.

The unique installation will take place within the centre gallery at MCM House, where guests will enter through the curtain, seemingly transported into the front cover of the book.

From Friday 31 January until Sunday 2 February, I will showcase some of his favourite products featured within the pages of the book, inviting guests to shop a curated selection of homewares, accessories and MCM House furniture representing each chapter of Moments at Home. Brands will include In The Roundhouse, Montauk Lighting Co., Lumira, Mercer and Lewis, Trudon, Cadry’s and Branche.

I will also be present each day from 11am–2pm to sign copies of the book and meet guests. There will be activations and further events surrounding the residency.

The space will also be the setting for the Sydney Moments at Home Supper Club — a one of a kind event open to 60 guests to experience a unique dining, design, music and conversational experience.

Starting my career as an interior stylist assistant, one of the first stores I sourced from for editorial and private clients was MCM House, forming a close friendship with MCM House founder, Charles Hinckfuss. Having featured many designs and collections within my own home and various projects, MCM House has become a second home for sourcing, being inspired and collaborating with Charles along the way on various projects and creative activations.

I am so excited to be hosting my very first residency within the walls of MCM House, a brand that shares the same soulful and layered ethos that is intrinsic to my own aesthetic.
